The scientific team of the Omora Ethnobotanical Park has discovered that the Sub-Antarctic Magellanic Ecoregion hosts a very high diversity of bryophytes (mosses and liverworts). At the southern end of the Americas, on less that 0.01% of the terrestrial Surface, grows more than 5% of the bryophyte species of the world, 60% of these Little plants exist nowhere else. Therefore, Cape Horn is a world hotspot of biodiversity for the bryophyte flora.
